| Question: |
Does CNYD work with youth directly? |
| Answer: |
CNYD does not currently work directly with youth, although everyone
on our staff has had substantial experience working directly with
youth in other contexts. We do, however, work directly with the
people who staff all types of youth organizations. Our purpose is
to provide support to youth workers and youth-serving organizations
so that they can provide high quality programs to the young people
they serve. You can check our Training and Events section to learn
more about the workshops and other resources we offer to youth service
providers or try the Resources section for a look at the tools we
have developed for people who work with youth.

| Question: |
What is a youth development intermediary
organization? |
| Answer: |
A youth development intermediary organization is one that offers
support, training and capacity building to youth-serving organizations
and youth workers. It strives to strengthen programs and services
for youth by providing workers and organizations with a practical
link to research being done in the field. It also provides a forum
for communication between funders and policy-makers and the people
and agencies doing the daily work with young people. Finally, it
provides an arena for discussion and sharing among the entire youth
service providers community so that decisions can be made with a
wider perspective and resources can be used efficiently and wisely.
Underlying all our work as an intermediary organization at CNYD
is the goal of bringing the youth development approach to every
level of programming and decision-making for youth. Refer to the
Our Approach section of the website for more detail about the youth
development approach.
